'Younger people are being affected' by flu

Thirty-nine people in the UK have now died with flu-like illnesses this winter, Health Protection Agency data shows.

All but three of them were infected with the H1N1 swine flu virus, while the remainder had influenza B.

Head of the respiratory diseases department at the HPA, Professor John Watson, said that younger people were being affected to a "greater extent" than usual.
