Pioneering heart surgery patient progressing well

The first person to undergo a pioneering medical technique aimed at improving the life expectancy of patients with heart failure is making good progress.

Doctors fitted a pacemaker-like device fitted in the neck of Carl Jordan in the hope of reducing the size of his enlarged heart and doctors are impressed with the results so far.

Graham Satchell reports from Liverpool.
