'Magic tricks make therapy easier' say children with hemiplegia

Will Cardwell is glad his eight-year-old son has found magic therapy.

Jack has hemiplegia - a weakening or paralysis of one side of the body and has been learning magic in order to improve the use of his hands.

These are no ordinary tricks - they have been specially designed by therapists, magicians and researchers at Breathe Arts Health Research to incorporate exercises that therapists often encourage children with hemiplegia to do.

Jack and Will explain some of the differences the 10 days of magic training have made to them.
