Cancer survivor: 'At first you believe it is a lie'

There are approximately 13 million new cases of cancer around the world every year.

This year's World Cancer Day, on 4 February, hopes to dispel the myths and misconceptions which surround the disease.

The BBC spoke to three cancer survivors in different parts of the world to find out about their experiences with it and what they have done to raise awareness in their own countries.
