NHS facing significant challenges, says Nicholson

The body that runs the NHS in England says the organisation is £30 billion short of the funding it needs to cover its costs.

This is on top of the £20 billion NHS Trusts have already been asked to save.

NHS England says the organisation needs fundamental change to meet rising demand.

Sir David Nicholson, Chief Executive of NHS England, said the health service was facing significant challenges.
