Racism against NHS staff rises by 65%

Reported racist incidents against staff in the NHS have risen by 65%, a BBC freedom of information request shows.

The NHS Employers organisation described the findings as "shocking".

Zimbabwean nurse "Simba," who has worked in the NHS since 1998, told BBC Radio 5 live's Victoria Derbyshire about the insults he had endured.

He said, "I tend to not take it to heart because I understand the people we deal with are disturbed."
