Chief medical officer: 'Society must recognise mental ill health'

Dame Sally Davies said people who were unable to work were not only causing their families to suffer financially, but were costing the economy as well.

High levels of bullying among children is a problem, she continued, saying it was "the foundation of poor mental health".
