Jeremy Hunt: 5,000 more GPs for out-of-hours care

Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt says 5,000 more GPs will be trained to provide care at weekends and in the evening.

Mt Hunt said our "24/7 society" meant we needed a more flexible GP service.

He said that GPs would be available till 8 o'clock in the evenings.

He also assured people the GPs available would be doctors who "knew about them" and would have accessed their medical records.
