Mark Serwotka's life-saving device

One of Britain's best known trades union leaders has spoken about the operation and technology that has helped save his life.

Mark Serwotka, general secretary of the Public and Commercial Services Union, was given was a small device called a Ventricular Assist Device in early 2014. It acts as his heart, pumping blood around his body.

He will still need a transplant but the device has helped him to return to work.
