'Autism for me is a painful gift'

There are nearly half a million adults in the UK with undiagnosed autism, according to the most recent research.

The Royal College of GPs has launched a three-year training programme to raise awareness and help improve diagnosis rates.

Chris Goodchild was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome at the age of 42. He spoke to the BBC about how it affects his life.
