Charities call for volunteers to help England A&E departments

With A&E departments experiencing one of the most difficult winters for many years, a group of charities are calling for radical intervention in hospitals across England.

They want volunteers to be stationed on wards to help ease pressure on staff, but not everyone is convinced that would deliver real benefits.
