Rheumatoid arthritis sufferer buys extra painkillers to cope

More than half of people suffering arthritis in the UK say they buy extra painkillers on top of their prescription medicine to cope with their condition, according to a new survey by Arthritis Research UK.

Less than half of the 800 people asked said they were satisfied with the pain relief they receive and three quarters said it stopped them living life to the full.

Ericka Waller has rheumatoid arthritis and takes extra painkillers on top of her prescription medicine.
