Could GPs and hospitals merge?

The chief inspector of hospitals in England, Professor Sir Mike Richards, has said that the NHS is standing on a "burning platform" and that the traditional care model is "no longer capable" of delivering the needs of today's population.

He tells Radio 4's Today programme that they need to evaluate how hospitals integrate in the community, especially looking at GPs and social care.
