How to end your love affair with Google

Concerned about Google's new privacy policies, computer expert Tom Henderson decided to give up Google products all together.

"Divorcing Google leaves you in something of a data desert," he says. But after a week, Henderson found a way to have a fulfilling online experience. It takes a little extra work and a fair amount of sacrifice -YouTube, he says with regret, is out.

For Henderson, The trade-offs are worth it for his peace of mind.

Google's privacy policy maintains that: "As a company that acts responsibly, we work hard to make sure any innovation is balanced with the appropriate level of privacy and security for our users."

Henderson outlined several steps needed to live life without Google.
