Cartoons on frontline of human rights
In 2004 the Iranian journalist Omid Memarian was imprisoned and tortured after articles he had written upset the authorities.
Now living in the US, he has edited a book called Sketches of Iran: A Glimpse from the Front Lines of Human Rights.
The book includes dozen of political cartoons by Iranians, many of whom are now in exile, as well as commentaries by academics and activists.
Memarian told the BBC the stories provide a glimpse into the struggle ordinary Iranians undertake not just for political freedoms but also to win social and educational rights.
