The place where being older is the norm
Christchurch in Dorset - on the south coast between Bournemouth and the New Forest - is arguably the town with the oldest population in the UK.
Part of Eastbourne in East Sussex has an higher median age, but generally Christchurch has a higher proportion of residents over the age of 65 than anywhere else - with almost 31%.
Overlooking the sea, Highcliffe and Mudeford - a few miles from Christchurch town centre - are among the oldest parts of the borough. See why they have become such retirement havens.
