Prof Seaborg on plutonium and the Cold War
In a 1994 interview on Newsnight, Prof Glenn Seaborg discussed the link between plutonium, the Cold War, and US radiation experiments.
The interview was part of a Newsnight investigation into the US radiation experiments carried on unwitting subjects.
Prof Seaborg was one of the discoverers of plutonium, an element used in the atom bomb. He explained that scientists at the time were desperate to find a cure to the effects of plutonium.
