Vietnam shipwrecks: On the trail of ancient ceramics in Hoi An
The dainty streets of the ancient trading port of Hoi An in central Vietnam are full of shops selling antique ceramics.
Some of the objects found on sale are from shipwrecks found off the coast by fishermen and dating back many centuries.
The clues are obvious - barnacles welded on to the rims of bowls, stains left by long-departed sea creatures.
Archaeologist Mark Staniforth compares two items found in a shop in the town.
