GM protester: 'Research is a smokescreen'
Hundreds of anti-GM protesters are demonstrating close to the site of an experimental crop of modified wheat in a Hertfordshire field.
Rothamsted Research hopes the modified crops being tested in Harpenden can deter aphids, a major wheat pest.
Anti-GM group Take the Flour Back say they are concerned about potential contamination from the cereal, but researchers say that is very unlikely.
Protester Tom Fenton told the BBC's Sophie Hutchinson that GM research is a smokescreen.
