Giant squid filmed in natural habitat

A giant squid measuring 3m (9ft) has been filmed in its natural habitat for the first time by a team of scientists and broadcasters working off the coast of Japan.

This footage comes from just one of 100 deep-sea dives that the team made in summer 2012, in waters about 600 miles (1,000km) south of Tokyo.
