Giant wind farm dropped by developer

A 77 square mile (124 square km) wind farm off the north Devon coast will not now go ahead, it has emerged.

Plans to create one of the world's largest off shore wind farms in the Bristol Channel have been scrapped.

The German energy company behind it said the project would have provided thousands of jobs and could have powered up to one million homes.

However, the company says plans have been abandoned because of financial problems.

Duncan Kennedy reports.
