'Origami' robots fold into action

Ancient Japanese art inspires researchers to design self-folding robots that behave like "real-life transformers".

Engineers at Harvard University have created a robot that unfolds itself from a flat sheet and is able to crawl.

They say their design, inspired by the Japanese art of origami, could be used to create devices that self-assemble in confined spaces.
