Comet lander: Philae on standby mode as power drops

The European Space Agency says the Philae comet probe has managed to send all its scientific data back to Earth - before low battery power forced it into hibernation.

Analysing all of the information will take many weeks.

However, it should become clear in the next few days if an attempt to collect material from inside the comet has succeeded.
