SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket launches from Cape Canaveral

An unmanned SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket carrying a space weather satellite has successfully launched from Florida's Cape Canaveral Air Force Station on its third attempt.

Problems with an Air Force tracking radar and poor weather conditions had previously forced the postponement of the launch.

The mission will monitor changes in solar wind, to warn forecasters of changes which affect satellites, power grids and communication systems.
