Wind tunnel reveals secret flight of birds
A team of scientists at Stanford University has designed a unique bird wind tunnel to find out how the tiniest of birds manage to fly in gusty winds and unstable air.
The tunnel is part of a suite of experiments that are revealing insights into the science of flight - ultimately help design flying robots that with the same skills.
Our science reporter Victoria Gill had exclusive access to Stanford's flight lab.
