Device 'stops car in its track'

A British company has demonstrated a prototype device capable of stopping cars and other vehicles using a blast of electromagnetic waves.

The RF Safe-Stop device uses radio frequency pulses to "confuse" electronic systems stopping the engine.

The BBC was given a demonstration of the device at Throckmorton Airfield in Worcestershire. Andy Bennett of E2V explained how the device works.
