Tower Hamlets election to be re-run after Lutfur Rahman found guilty of corrupt practices

The mayor of Tower Hamlets Lutfur Rahman has been found guilty of corrupt and illegal practices in his bid to win office last year.

The judge said Mr Rahman had relied on silencing his critics by accusations of racism and Islamophobia.

The mayoral election in the east London borough will now have to be re-run as our BBC London's Political Correspondent Karl Mercer reports.
