Ship fire rescue: 'Athena will return to port'

A cargo vessel has rescued nearly 100 people from life rafts after the commercial fishing vessel they were on board caught fire.

The Athena, a factory fishing ship, was 230 miles south-west of the Isles of Scilly in the Atlantic when the fire began.

James Instance, from the Rescue Centre Manager at Falmouth Coastguard, said 13 members of the crew were staying on board the Athena to get it back to a port.
