'Shelves emptying' in snowbound Scotland

Householders have been contending with blocked roads and emptying supermarket shelves in the small Scottish town of Auchterarder in Perthshire.

Snow and ice have caused travel problems on all routes across Scotland and the M8 in North Lanarkshire is described as "treacherous".
