'Very good' staff reaction to Ford open prison riot

The Prison Governors' Association has praised the reaction of the Prison Service to a riot at Ford open prison in West Sussex.

Trouble broke out at the jail when officers tried to breathalyse three prisoners suspected of drinking alcohol on New Year's Eve.

Eoin McLennan-Murray, president of the association, said the handling of the situation by staff had been ''very good''.
