Train boss defends 6.2% rail price rise

Rail fares have gone up by an average of 6.2%.

The rise is 3% above the current rate of inflation but passenger groups have warned that some commuters will face much bigger increases.

The chief executive of the Association of Train Operating Companies, Michael Roberts, said the rise reflected government policy.
