NI Water chief MacKenzie to step down

Northern Ireland Water chief executive Laurence MacKenzie is to step down from his post, the BBC has learned.

It follows the shortages over the Christmas period which left tens of thousands of homes without a water supply.

The company insisted last night that Laurence McKenzie was still running the company for now but it is expected he will step aside in the next few days.

Aisling McVeigh reports.
