The 'strict guidelines' of being undercover police

An undercover police officer has said a correct mindset is needed in order to infiltrate a group of people involved in suspected criminal activity.

Speaking as David Corbett, an assumed name, he said it was vital to follow ''strict guidelines'' and to remember he was working for the police.

A trial has collapsed in Nottingham after an undercover officer who infiltrated a group of campaigners against a power station offered to give evidence on their behalf.
