Police forces face 'big cuts challenge'

The official police watchdog has fuelled the argument over whether budget cuts will affect the fight against crime.

In a new report the Chief Inspector of Constabulary for England and Wales, Sir Denis O'Connor, says many forces will face a big challenge to hang on to all their front line staff.

But ministers say there are other ways to make savings. The BBC's Tom Symonds reports.
