Husband denies murdering Melsonby postmistress Diana Garbutt
A village shopkeeper denied murdering his postmistress wife and told a jury he would "never hurt her".
Robin Garbutt, 45, is accused of hitting 40-year-old Diana over the head as she slept above the shop in Melsonby, North Yorkshire, last March.
The prosecution at Teesside Crown Court allege Mr Garbutt murdered his unfaithful wife then pretended she was killed by an armed robber.
Ed Thomas reports.
