Husband guilty of postmistress murder
The husband of a postmistress, who was bludgeoned to death with a metal bar, has been found guilty of her murder and sentenced to at least 20 years in prison.
Robin Garbutt hit his wife Diana three times over the head as she slept in their living quarters above the post office they ran in the village of Melsonby in North Yorkshire.
He had claimed his wife Diana had been attacked by a gang of intruders and he had been forced to hand over thousands of pounds.
Ed Thomas reports.
