Ian Tomlinson verdict leaves family 'long way to go'

The family of Ian Tomlinson say they are grateful that an inquest recorded a verdict of unlawful killing, but say they still have a "long way to go in the search for justice".

Paul King said that the family would like to pursue criminal charges against the police for the actions which lead to his step-father's death.

The 47-year-old collapsed and died after he was hit by a baton and pushed to the ground by Pc Simon Harwood at the demonstrations on 1 April 2009.

The jury decided that Pc Harwood used "excessive and unreasonable" force in striking him.
