Stephen Lawrence trial announced
Two men are to be tried for the murder of Stephen Lawrence, the black teenager whose death at the hands of a group of white youths in 1993 had a pivotal impact on race relations in Britain.
Gary Dobson, who has already been acquitted once, will face a new trial after the Court of Appeal ruled there was substantial and reliable new evidence linking him to the fatal attack.
The other man, David Norris, was a suspect in the original investigation 18 years ago.
As the BBC's home editor Mark Easton reports, it is a case that brought about profound change in the criminal justice system in England and Wales.
