Rail fares: Philip Hammond welcomes review

Transport Secretary Philip Hammond says rail ticket prices will not increase beyond the rises already agreed for the next three years, but that they would benefit from review.

He said there were "very strange patterns of crowding" on the network at the point when pricing switches from peak to off-peak, and changing the fare structure could help.
