Tighter laws on uninsured vehicles in crackdown

People who drive without insurance will face much tougher laws from June, as owning an uninsured vehicle without the right paperwork will become an offence.

At the moment a driver can only be prosecuted if they are caught behind the wheel of an uninsured vehicle, but from next month they can be fined without actually driving the car.
