Bank robbers using machetes jailed

Two men have been jailed for their parts in three bank robberies in which more than £500,000 was stolen.

The men were extradited from Spain on European arrest warrants.

Lee Tansey, 33 of Pegwell Drive, Salford, pleaded guilty to three armed robberies and was jailed for 11 years.

Rickton Mark Henry, 31, of Merridge Walk, Salford, pleaded guilty to one armed robbery and was sentenced to eight years and eight months.

Leeds Crown Court heard the men used machetes and sledgehammers in the West Yorkshire and Lancashire robberies, as John Cundy reports.
