Crime maps may show local offenders' photos online

Crime maps which allow the public in England and Wales to see information on the level of crime in their local area, could soon include photographs of offenders.

The Home Office has said it is also considering adding details of the criminal's offences and their punishment to the maps, which are available on the internet.

The idea is being tried out in West Yorkshire, from where Ed Thomas reports.
