Former police tried over murder case

A jury has been sworn in for the trial of 10 people, including eight former police officers, accused of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice in the Lynette White murder investigation.

The 20-year-old was killed in the Cardiff flat where she worked as a prostitute in 1988.

Three men were wrongly convicted of the murder, before later being freed.

The eight retired policemen and two witnesses from the original trial deny all charges at Swansea Crown Court.
