Daily Mail editor denies knowledge of hacking at paper

The editor of the Daily Mail Paul Dacre has denied any knowledge of phone hacking taking place at the newspaper, or of any stories based on hacked phone messages being published.

He was responding to a question from Conservative MP Stephen Phillips during a joint select committee hearing in parliament about the draft Defamation Bill.
