Local councils cut charity funding

It is being claimed more than 2,000 charities across England have seen their funding cut, or in some cases completely withdrawn, by local councils.

The figures come from an anti-cuts campaign backed by the TUC.

It says more than £10m has been cut from charities' budgets.

Peter Kyle, deputy CEO of the Association of Chief Executives of Voluntary Organisations says the cuts are having a terrible effect on charities.
