Girl rescued after being buried digging hole on beach

A 15-year-old girl from Kent has been airlifted to hospital after being buried under sand while digging a 7ft hole on a beach in Norfolk.

Andy Hewitt, a crew member from Caister Lifeboat Rescue, said she was completely immersed by sand when he arrived at the scene at Caister-on-Sea.

She was taken to hospital in Gorleston. Her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
