Rioters were greedy not angry, say West Mids police

The Chief Constable of West Midlands Police, Chris Sims, has said 700 to 800 people were involved in trouble in Birmingham city centre.

He said more than 130 arrests were made.

A further five people have been arrested in morning raids and photos of other trouble makers are being posted on the force's website, so more arrests were expected.

He branded the violence as pure criminality.
