Riots spread to cities beyond London

Rioting has spread across London in a third night of unrest, and there have been disturbances in other English cities.

Residents in Handsworth, Birmingham, woke up to burnt-out cars and buildings and smashed windows.

Several banks and shops and the local police station bear the hallmarks of a night of violence and looting.

Claire Marshall reports.
