Is a prison sentence a fair punishment for rioters?

Following the four nights of rioting last week there have now been more than 2,500 arrests across England.

Many have been sentenced to prison, even if it was their first offence, which some families have claimed is too harsh a punishment.

The BBC's Chris Buckler has been talking to the families of some of the looters.
