Inflation figures to raise rail fares by 8% on average

Many rail commuters are facing ticket rises of around 8% next year, following the release of latest inflation figures.

Rail Minister Theresa Villiers said "difficult decisions" on fares had been taken due to the budget deficit.

However many train passengers in Reading feel the increases are too high.
